This trigonometrical chart of the island of Seer Beni Yass was drawn by Lieutenant M. Houghton as part of the survey undertaken in these waters by Lieutenants J. M. Guy, G. B. Brucks and R. Cogan. The survey was conducted between 1822 and 1825, on behalf of the Honorable East India Company Marine Service. The chart itself is dated 1822.
