The Middle States

The maps and charts in this collection cover the important 'middle states' of Virginia,
Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.

Together, they tell the story of the British 'southern strategy' for the Revolutionary War,
which was designed to put a strangle-hold on the efforts of George Washington and his
Colonial Army after 1776. Also included in the collection are extremely rare examples
of early Anglo-American map making.
